Rich Cook, Director of Sales & Marketing

How I Got Here:
As a former journalist I worked in every form of media – radio, television, print and an advancing technology known as the Internet. No matter the discipline, ‘feeding the beast’ is the amusing catch-phrase for keeping up with the relentless news cycle. As the Internet evolved I quickly determined its key advantage over every other form of mass media: immediacy. The Web was now, global and always open for business. No more waiting around to provide an update or advance a story – with the right tools and web presence new information was instantaneous. The writing was on the wall in giant, glowing neon letters: this was clearly the future of communication. I decided to grab a board, jump on the wave, and enjoy the ride.

What I Do Here:
At DC Web Designers we try not to use the term ‘Sales’. Sure, it’s a prominent part of my title, but Director of Sales & Marketing sounded better than ‘Vice President of Conversation’, or ‘Client Re-Education Specialist.’ When you get in touch with DC Web Designers to talk about your project I’m your point of contact.

No two web projects are ever alike, so my job is to listen, inform and advise. For most clients web design and technology is a strange, new world. It’s my responsibility to guide you through this maze, and educate you about the various design and technology options. I’ll try to keep it simple, minimize the jargon, and translate the complicated technology lexicon into some sort of understandable, everyday language.

Be prepared for a lot of questions (it’s the reporter in me), so we can understand your business, and the specific needs and goals of your website. Once we understand your project, I’ll work with our team to transfer your vision into a clear written plan. As we work our way through the process I’ll provide plenty of support to help you make an informed and intelligent decision.
